A 19th-century Old Paris (Vieux Paris) porcelain dinner service, entirely hand painted. White porcelain strewn with small blue cornflower sprigs in the classic barbeau manner, with blue and gold accents on the handles, finials and rims, and shaped serving pieces in the taste of the period. Old Paris is not a single maker but the porcelain produced by the many Parisian workshops of the 1800s, usually sold unmarked — a category prized by collectors for its hand-painted decoration and antique forms.
