Gorgeous 20th century Dutch large Boch delft foo dog royal sphinx lidded vase.
Blue white pottery Delft Vase with lid, lion on top, marked at bottom Made by Boch, Holland .
The lid is topped by Chinese guardian lion figurine also called Poo dog. Guardian lions were in China a symbol of dignity and power, protected against evil spirits and ghosts and was considered a defender of the law. This mark is used from 1840 until 1960.
