A Boch vase in the Vieux Rhodes pattern, made in Belgium. A waisted, faceted form hand decorated in the Iznik manner — cobalt blue, rust and green flowering stems with a long-tailed bird — on a cream ground, with lappet borders at the neck and foot. A flower vase or a mantel piece.
Vieux Rhodes is Boch's take on the old Rhodian (Iznik) palette, where the strong blues and terracotta reds of Ottoman pottery are carried onto Belgian earthenware.
