A large Haviland Limoges porcelain dinner service for twelve, decorated in cobalt blue with touches of gold. Each piece carries a chinoiserie spray — a peony and flowering branch with a bird of paradise — inside a blue and gold geometric border band, on a bright white ground, with gilded rims. Haviland has made porcelain in Limoges since the 19th century, and blue-and-gold chinoiserie of this kind is among the house’s most collected decorative work.
