A pair of bisque (unglazed) porcelain figurines from Germany: a boy with a flute and a girl with a rabbit, each seated on a gilt-trimmed base. Softly modelled with gold-touched detail.
Matte bisque figures were the parlour ornaments of their day, made in courting or musical pairs to sit at either end of a mantel. This pair keeps that job on a grandmillennial shelf.
